Editorial Policy

Purpose and Independence

Our editorial mission is to help you choose an espresso machine that fits your routine and remains reliable over time. We do not sell rankings, and we do not accept payment for positive coverage. Editorial decisions are made by our team without influence from manufacturers, retailers, or affiliates.

How We Source Products

  • We purchase units at retail when feasible.
  • We may accept short-term loaners for testing. Loaners are returned or donated after evaluation.
  • Any material connection (loaners, early access) is disclosed on the relevant page.

Review Process and Updates

  • All machines undergo our standardized Workflow-First protocol.
  • We publish key measurements and explain trade-offs and limitations.
  • If firmware/hardware changes could affect outcomes, we retest or add update notes.
  • Corrections are timestamped and explained transparently.

Conflicts of Interest

Team members must disclose any relationships (employment, consulting, financial) with relevant brands. Individuals with conflicts are recused from coverage involving that brand.

Affiliate Links and Revenue

We use affiliate links to some retailers. If you click and buy, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence what we test, how we test, or our conclusions. See our Privacy Policy for details on cookies and tracking.

Data Ethics

We avoid dark patterns, clearly label sponsored placements if we ever run them (currently none), and separate advertising from editorial. We do not share personal contact information with manufacturers without permission.

Corrections and Feedback

If you spot an error, email [email protected] with details. We investigate promptly and, when warranted, publish a correction with a timestamp and summary of changes.
